A joining three days tour in Khao Yai National Park in Thailand whereby you can do jungle trekking, see wild elephants, do bird watching and staying at Khao Yai Garden Lodge hotel.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Bangkok - Khao yai (L,D)
Pickup between 8.30 and 9.00 a.m. at your hotel. Drive from Bangkok in 2.5 hours to Khao Yai Garden Lodge and check in. Our first trip starts at 2.00 p.m. to visit the holy stalactite cave and the marble temple donated by the Crown Prince. Back at the Lodge at around 4.15 p.m. About 5.00 p.m. we take the car and drive to the bat caves, and can see more than one million bats swarming out of their caves to hunt for their night’s food - a unique and most interesting experience. From the bat cave we drive directly into the national park. Our night tour starts through mountain forest and grassland, to watch the nocturnal animal world from a ranger’s car, illuminated by special halogen spotlights. Various species of deer, wild cats, wild boar, porcupine can be seen and with a bit of luck elephants at the salt licks. Back at the Lodge at 9.45 p.m. for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Khao Yai (B, L, D)
The following morning we explore the different types of forest and drive high up into the mountains of Khao Yai National Park. Using the elephant trails hiking at first about three hours, to watch macaques, gibbons , some species of the rare hornbills and many other birds, insects, reptiles, orchids, ferns and plant life in the forest. Afterwards we visit a big waterfall, where you can swim and take lunch. From the cliffs at 1270 m above sea level, we can admire the magnificent view over Khao Yai. Back at the Lodge about 5.00 to 6.00 p.m.
Depending on the season, you may see flowering trees and wild orchids, with different beautiful butterflies fluttering through the fragrant jungle air. The jungle has an impressive and unforgettable beauty, bizarre climbing plants, rare palm trees and ferns.
Day 3 : Khao Yai - Sikaew - Bangkok (B, L)
Breakfast at hotel 9.00 am go to local market(Park Chong) to see life style local people, Explore a sandstone labyrinth with rock-paintings about 200 years old. On the bizarrely formed rocks grow fig trees whose roots clutch the rock with hundreds of lianas hanging down from the top .Here time passes us by .We hear only the birds singing ,and the squirrels chattering and our own voice .One of my favorite places, visit a big and nice Buddhist temple and place of pilgrimage .High on the mountain sits a 28 meter hight Buddha figure. In the temple grounds there are also Chinese statues and some rate plants.
