10 Days Myanmar - All highlights

Day 1 - Arrive Yangon (-)
Welcome upon arrival at Yangon International Airport and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon private city touring, visit the Old Colonial-Style City Centre, Botataung Pagoda, the National Museum; filled with artifact and cultural exhibits of Myanmar, and the Shwedagon Pagoda; arguably the world’s most impressive golden stupa. Overnight at your hotel in Yangon.

Day 2 - Yangon - Bagan (B) 
Transfer to the airport for taking a flight to Bagan. Arrive Nyaung U airport and transfer to the hotel. After check in at the hotel we are off on our sightseeing tour of one of Asia's most popular archeological destinations. Highlights include visits to Nyaung Oo Market; and many of Bagan’s distinctive pagodas such as Shwezigon, a prototype of later Myanmar stupas; Wetkyi-in- Gubyaukgyi, a 13th century ‘cave temple with interesting fine frescoes; Ananda Pagoda, one of the finest, largest and best preserved in Old Bagan; and next to it  Ananda Ok Kyaung, one of the few surviving brick monastery buildings from the Early Bagan period. We return to the hotel for a rest before our afternoon visit to a lacquer ware factory. Late afternoon, enjoy horse-down carriage ride to a memorable site for viewing sunset. Day 3 - Bagan (B)
Today we continue our sightseeing highlights include visits to more of Bagan’s impressive pagodas such as Nagayon, an elegant and well preserved temple containing many Buddhas, Nanpaya,  Gubaukgyi, in the old Bagan village of Myinkaba, is an early period temple with well preserved paintings inside.In the late afternoon, enjoy the sunset on top of a pagoda or temple chosen by our guide. Day 4 - Bagan - Sale - Mount Popa - Bagan (B)
After breakfast, drive to Salay which really developed as an expansion of the city of Bagan in the late 12th Century, and much of the architecture dates back to this historic period. The appeal in Salay is its large number of attractive monasteries.  Also noteworthy are the plums that are grown in the region, which are one of the most popular types grown in the country. Continue drive to Mount Popa, which rose from the ground in a massive earthquake in 442 BC. Mount Popa is famous as the abode of the Nats (Spirit Gods) and has a panoramic view of the surrounding plains. We can also make a visit to one of the local families who make toddy palm juice for sale from the toddy palms. Overnight at your hotel in Bagan.

Day 5 - Bagan - Mandalay - Mingun - Mandalay (B)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for domestic flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival at Mandalay, proceed to the Mandalay jetty where we take a short and pleasant ride upriver to Mingun about 11 km (1 hour) upstream from Mandalay. Visit the unfinished Mingun Paya, Mingun Bell; weighing 90 tons and the largest un-cracked bell in the world and Myatheintan Pagoda. Cruise back to Mandalay. Afternoon, half day sightseeing in Mandalay. Visit to famous Mahamuni Pagoda, traditional handicraft workshops, gold leaf hammering workshop, marble curving and woodcarving, Shwenandaw Monastery (Golden Palace Monastery), a superb example of a traditional wooden building and Kuthodaw Pagoda (world's biggest book). Day 6 - Mandalay - Amarapura - Inwa - Sagaing (B)
After breakfast at the hotel, travel to former royal capital of Amarapura, 15 km from Mandalay. Visit to a famous Buddhist monastery Maha Gandayone, where thousand of Monk live and study. Continue to 1.2km long U Bein Teakwood Bridge and Traditional silk weaving Home Industry. After lunch, we will visit Inwa which was founded in 1364 and lasted nearly 400 years as a royal capital and reached there by a short boat trip. Visit by horse-drawn cart to Nanmyint Watch Tower the remains of the palace ruin. Next to visit Bagaya Monastery, famous for its impressive ornate woodcarvings and teak posts; Maha Aung Mye Bonzan Monastery, built of brick and stucco. Continue visit Sagaing Hill and silver ware workshop. Late afternoon proceed to Shwe Kyat Yet Pagoda to watch sunset over the Ayeyawaddy River.Overnight at your hotel in Mandalay.

Day 7 - Mandalay - Heho - Pindaya - Inle Lake (B)
Transfer to Mandalay Airport for your flight to Heho. Upon arrival at Heho, travel on a scenic route to Pindaya (60 km - 1½ hours) via Aung Ban. Visit the Pindaya Caves, home of some six thousands Buddha images and stalagmites as well. Observe how the paper parasols are being made at a small workshop at the foot of Shwe Oo Min Hill. After lunch at a local restaurant, proceed by road to Inle Lake (90 km - 2½ hours) and by boat to the hotel at the lake. Overnight at your hotel at Inle Lake.
Day 8 - Inle (B)
Today we will visit a colourful local market in the Inle Lake region (if there is on market day). Afterwards, an excursion by boat on Inle Lake will include seeing the famous leg-rowers, typical floating gardens, local methods of fishing and village life. Enjoy a lunch at a local restaurant on the lake. The highlights on the lake are Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda, Nga Phe Chaung Monastery with a collection of ancient Shan-style Buddha images and other sights such as blacksmiths, silversmiths, weaving looms, etc. Then boat trip to western shore of Inle Lake to visit Indain pagoda complex. Overnight at your hotel in Inle Lake.

Day 9 - Inle Lake - Heho - Yangon (B)
In the morning, transfer to Heho airport (25 Km-1hour) for flight to Yangon. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. On the way visit Kaba Aye (World Peace) Pagoda.Afternoon visit Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda; a colossal reclining Buddha, famous Scott Market; which had been built in 1926 noted for its variety of handicrafts and other items which provide an excellent opportunity for a shopping spree before a visit in China town. Overnight at your hotel in Yangon
Day 10 - Departure Yangon (B)
Breakfast and free at leisure till transfer to Yangon International Airport for departure flight.
