Day 1: Houeixay - Pakbeng (Laos) (B)
Arrival in Ban Houai Xai, we will board our boat and cruise down the Mekong River to Pakbeng. Stops are made en route to observe village life along the river and discover dwellings of ethnic minority groups. Today the local guide will take you to the public boat. Upon arrival in Pakbeng you will have to help yourselves to take your luggage to the hotel.
Day 2: Pakbeng – Luang Prabang (B)
If one get up early there is a good opportunity to visit the local market where tribes exchange their wares. Afterwards we start the second leg of the cruise to Luang Prabang. Today you will have to help yourselves to take your luggage to the public boat in Pakbeng pier. Upon arrival Luang Prabang there will be a local guide to pick you up and transfer you to the hotel in Luang prabang.
Day 3: Luang Prabang (B)
Free day to explore Luang Prabang by yourselves.
Day 4: Luang Prabang – Vang Vieng (B)
En route to Vang Vieng we’ll have time to stop to take in the scenery from the viewpoints. Vang Vieng is a small village settled between a spectacular spread of limestone karsts and is surrounded by lush green paddy fields and dwellings of ethnic minorities.The terrace of your hotel offers splendid sunsets amidst these magnificent natural settings. Today there will be a private minivan transfer from Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng. The driver will pick you up at the hotel around 08:30am. there will only be a driver and no guide.
Day 5: Vang Vieng – Vientiane (B)
An approximately three hour drive will take us to the capital of Laos. Vientiane is a friendly sleepy town resting on the shores of the mighty Mekong River. In the afternoon we include a sightseeing tour around the city. We’ll explore some of the best sights including the Victory Gate (Arc de Triomphe), the wat Sisaket, and the impressive That Luang Stupa, the country’s most important monument. Also visit the ‘morning market’ where you can wander around and buy silver, silk or other items you like to take back home. In the evening you can stroll along the banks of the Mekong River. Today there will be a private minivan transfer from your hotel to Vientiane. The local guide will meet you at the hotel for the city tour in Vientiane.
Day 6: Vientiane (B)
Free day to explore Vientiane by yourselves.
Day 7: Vientiane – Nongkhai (Thailand) (B)
After breakfast we will be free in the morning and transfer to the friendship bridge and then across the border to Nongkhai in Thailand. Today there will be a private minivan and local guide to transfer you from your hotel to the friendship bridge and across the border to Nongkhai train station.
