The creation of a beach in front of the Resort
This is a government project set in motion by the islands governor, to create a man made beach right in front of the Away resort grounds. The creation will be done using dredging techniques with a small barge dredging up sand from the seabed and then spraying it on the foundations set in front of the resort. The impact of this work is minimal in terms of disruption to guests. We base this on the facts below:
Number of workers seen on the barge and or beach – 3
Hours of work – 08:00 – 17:00 hours
Noise impact – Low
Line of sight and enjoyment of view – Low to Medium
Works ongoing through from now until December 15th
The end result and clear benefit to this is that the Away resort will end up having a private stretch of white sandy beach front measuring 200 meters in length and at its deepest point stretching 20 meters out into the bay.
The Creation of the new Duplex Bungalows
As part of our continued growth, upgrading and expansion plans we are now well into the creation of ten new Duplex Bungalows that will be available for guests to use from December 20th. These new accommodations sit directly where once the Island Canvas Tents were and are of course a dramatic improvement. These new bungalows are located at the very rear of the entire resort and at its highest most point. The impact of this work we feel again is perhaps only minimal to medium in terms of the disruption it may cause to a guests enjoyment based on the facts below:

Noise impact – Medium (receding somewhat at the latter stages)
Line of sight/interruption of view – Low - Work is at the back of resort hidden
