HA NOI - HA LONG BAY - CAT BA - SA PA - FAN SI PAN MOUNTAIN
This adventure program takes us from historical Ha Noi to the world heritage site of Ha Long Bay, from the remote north that features the country’s highest mountains with its most rugged terrain, home to one of Asia’s most diverse ethnic mixes to the National Park and fishing village on Cat Ba Island. For travelers seeking a truly remote and authentic culture experience, the rewards are great.
DAY 1 ARRIVE HA NOI
On arrival at Ha Noi Noi Bai Airport, we will be met and transferred to our hotel. After a welcome drink and tour briefing, we enjoy a performance of Viet Nam’s unique traditional Water Puppetry.
DAY 2 HA NOI
We tour President
Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and humble house on stilts, t
he One Pillar Pagoda and
Temple of Literature, followed by tour of the Museum of Ethnology,
Hoa Lo Prison Museum. After enjoying the tranquillity of
Hoan Kiem Lake, we are free to explore
Ha Noi’s Old Quarter. DAY 3 HA NOI - HA LONG BAY
Travel to
Ha Long Bay with stop at
Dong Trieu ceramic village and board our junk to enjoy sumptuous seafood lunch while cruising through the magnificent bay. We also explore one of the beautiful grottoes, having swimming and experiment some night fishing.
DAY 4 HA LONG - CAT BA
We navigate a small rowboat through a low roofed cave and have some more swimming. A final lunch is served on board as we are transferred to another boat to cruise slowly to Cat Ba Island. The reaminder of the day is free to explore the island at our own pace.
DAY 5 CAT BA ISLAND FULL DAY TREK
Today we visit this preserved National Park rich with founa and flora, trekking its paths for some hours before coming out at the Viet Hai fishing village, from where we are met by boat and taken to the harbor and town through the Lan Ha Bayt.
DAY 6 CAT BA - HAI PHONG - HA NOI
Free to explore the island’s beautiful Cat Co Beach, beach front market, or enjoy some more swimming until until lunch time. In the afternoon, we take a Hydrofoil Cruise to Hai Phong, where our bus will meet us for returning to Ha Noi.
DAY 7 HA NOI - HOA LU - LAO CAI
Driving through rural countryside to the 10th Century capital of Hoa Lu, we navigate the river’s limestone outcrops by rowboat, discovering the ancient temples and exploring the magnificent grotto of Tam Coc before to Ha Noi’s railway station for our overnight train to Lao Cai.
DAY 8 LAO CAI - SA PA
Arriving
Lao Cai in the morning, we are transferred up to the
Hill Station of Sa Pa and have a breakfast at the hotel. This day is free to explore Sa Pa Town, meeting with the local minority people that gathering around the market to sell their produce, whom still wearing very colorful dress in tradition.
DAY 9 SA PA
We along a trail with beautiful gardens as well as a
Black Hmong ethnic minority village of Ma Tra, visiting a local school for children from the ethnic minorities before commencing the afternoon trek to
the red Dao minority village of Ta Phin before haeding back to our hotel.
DAY 10 MT. FANSIPAN CLIMBING
With a team of
Black H’Mong porters, we head for
Sin Chai Village and walk for about 3hrs before having our lunch. Continuing climbing, we arrive at our campsite at approx. 2500 m and have our tents raised for overnight stay. It is time to enjoy dinner and the nocturnal sounds of nature.
DAY 11 THE ROOF OF INDOCHINA
Climbing upwards, at about noon time, we reach the Fansipan’s Summit and enjoy the spectacular view over Laos and China while resting our feet. Time for us to have a long break, having our luch before we strolling down to our base camp.
DAY 12 SA PA - LAO CAI - HA NOI
We move slowly to Sa Pa passing again the rainforest that gradually gives way to huge. Upon arriving, we take a shower at the hotel, having a luch before descending to Lao Cai for our over night train journey to Ha Noi.
DAY 13 ARRIVE HA NOI - DEPARTURE
Arriving in Ha Noi in the morning, we free until transfering to the airport for departure flight.
